I am not, nor have ever been a fan of movies like this. When I saw the previews for Avatar, in my mind I thought this is another nerdy Star Wars of Star Trek film. Oh how I was wrong. Avatar movie has some deep concepts embedded in the roots of the story. Seeing this movie made me think back to the history of man. How only the strongest survive. The fact that people think that they can move in and take people's land for betterment of themselves (i.e. Whites and Native Americans) is absurd. While seeing the white people move in to take over the native Avatar's land provoked a feeling in me that I may have never felt had I not seen this movie. Obviously this did not really happen but who is to say that this has not happened in history? Should you say that you are ignorant to the history of our country. I'm sure that the looks on the Avatar's faces when the whites came to take over were no different than the looks on the Native's faces when unknown white Europeans came and swept their land out from under their feet.
